Step 1.Install and launch TRAE
- Go to TRAE’s website and install TRAE on your PC.
- The following screen appears at TRAE’s first launch.
- Click the Get Started button. TRAE’s setup begins.
Step 2.Use GLM-4.6 model in TRAE
If you want to use GLM-4.6 model , you can connect to your model resources using API keys.- At the top right of the side chat box, click Settings icon > Models。 The Models window appears.
- Click the + Add Model button. The Add Model pop-up appears.
- Enter Configuration Details
- Provider: Select Z.ai-plan.
Among the options, you may see both Z.ai and Z.ai-plan.
If you wish to use your subscribed GLM Coding Plan, please make sure to select Z.ai-plan.
If you choose Z.ai, successful calls will be charged based on the model’s API pricing and deducted from your account balance.

- Model: GLM-4.6-plan
- API Key: Input your Z.AI API Key
If you want to manage your API keys on Z.ai, you can click Get API Key, and TRAE will open the corresponding API key configuration page of Z.ai.
- Click the Add Model button. TRAE checks if the API key you enter is valid. The possible results are as follows:
- If the connection is successful, the custom model will be added.
- If the connection fails, the Add Model window will display an error message along with the error log returned by Z.ai. You can refer to this information for troubleshooting.
